Use of Energy Efficient/ Renewable Energy Products

What is its purpose?
The indicator measures the % of target households which in a certain period used the promoted energy efficient / renewable energy product, such as solar lamp or fuel-efficient stove (slightly rephrased indicators can be also used for other products, such as building insulation).
How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data
Collect the following data by conducting individual interviews with a representative sample of the target households’ members:

Q1: In the past [specify the time period], did your household use [specify the promoted product]?
A1: yes / no
Calculate the indicator’s value by dividing the number of households using promoted products by the total number of respondents and multiplying the value by 100.
1) Consider verifying the response by asking the respondent to show you the product or by asking about its details.
2) Consider also assessing how often the respondent used the promoted product by asking "In the past [specify the time period], how often did you use [specify the product]?" Such data will indicate to what extent the produce has replaced the previous, energy less-efficient products. You can also ask about the respondent’s motivations by asking “Why did your household purchase [specify the product]? To understand whether the purchase can be attributed to your project, consider also asking “Where did you purchase the [specify the product]?” (to see whether it was purchased from the sellers your project supported).
